Frequently asked questions
Costs, technologies, maintenance and regulations: answers to the questions we receive most often.
Quotes and site surveys
How much does a water treatment plant cost?
It depends on the source water, the flow rate required and the end use, which is why we do not work from standard price lists. After the water analysis and the site survey, both free, you receive a detailed design with a clear price.
Are the survey, analysis and quote really free?
Yes. It is how we work: without knowing your water and your site we could not propose the right solution. They involve no obligation to buy.
Which areas do you cover?
The whole of Italy. Our operations site is in Cellamare, in the province of Bari, and from there we deliver, install and service plants nationwide.
How long does it take to get the plant?
Lead times depend on the size and complexity of the plant. We state them precisely in the quotation, together with the build, delivery and start-up stages.
Technologies
What is the difference between a softener and reverse osmosis?
A softener removes limescale by exchanging calcium and magnesium for sodium: it protects plumbing and appliances but does not lower overall salinity. Reverse osmosis holds back most dissolved salts, as well as nitrates, metals and micro-organisms. The two technologies often work together.
Can well water be made drinkable?
In most cases yes, with the right treatment. A chemical and bacteriological analysis shows what has to be removed; then filtration, reverse osmosis where needed and disinfection are combined. Once the plant is running, a verification analysis confirms the result.
Can you desalinate brackish or sea water?
Yes, it is one of our specialities. We build reverse-osmosis desalination units for brackish wells and sea water, for civil, irrigation and industrial use, with flow rates from 1,000 to 15,000 litres per hour.
What is a plug & play containerised plant?
A complete plant built inside a container, which becomes its plant room. We assemble and test it in our workshop: on site you simply set it down, connect water and power and start it.
What does an Industry 4.0 plant mean?
It means the plant has an advanced management panel, with touch-screen, to control and monitor its operation. If you are interested in the Italian incentives for Industry 4.0 assets, discuss it with us and your tax adviser at the design stage.
Maintenance and warranty
What maintenance does a reverse-osmosis plant need?
Periodic replacement of pre-filters, dosing checks, instrument checks and, when needed, membrane cleaning. With a scheduled maintenance contract we take care of it at the agreed intervals.
What warranty do you offer?
Plants are covered by a one or two-year warranty, depending on the plant. The exact terms are set out in the quotation.
Do you attend in the event of a fault?
Yes. We provide technical support, repairs and an emergency call-out service. You can reach us by phone or on WhatsApp.
Do you rent out plants?
Yes, we rent plants for temporary or seasonal needs. Contact us to check availability of the size you need.
Regulations and public bodies
Do your plants comply with drinking-water regulations?
Yes. Our equipment complies with Italian decree D.M. 25/2012 on the treatment of water intended for human consumption, and we use materials compliant with D.M. 174/2004. We are licensed under D.M. 37/08 and issue the declaration of conformity on completion.
Do you work with the public sector?
Yes, we are registered on MePA, the Italian public administration's e-procurement marketplace.
